Loan for members

We provide emergency funding for unforeseen circumstances, microloan and technical supports for members' start-ups and existing ventures.

Business Model Development

We partner with relevant institutions to support and develop community based model of business to stimulate the spirit of social entrepreneurship in the minority communities.

Financial Literacy

We provide training and support in debt management, budgeting, investment and financial planning. This is aimed to bring positive change and improve the financial well-being of individuals within the community.

Event management & Sponsorship

We work with various minority communities organise relevant community events – sports, arts, cultural and fund raising.

Understanding the role of voluntary action in Greater Manchester in context

Connecting BAME Social Entrepreneurs was a Greater Manchester (GM) level programme aimed at connecting Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME*) social entrepreneurs to opportunities for development and growth. It was funded by the Connect Fund and People’s Postcode Lottery to provide support to social enterprises led by BAME people.

Connecting BAME Organisations in Greater Manchester

The Greater Manchester BAME Network project has been hosted at GMCVO since 2013, having originally started as part of a BASIS Big Lottery Funded project that ran from 2009-2012.

Grants to support higher levels of mental wellbeing

We are delivering the fourth year of a grants programme, funded by the Greater Manchester Integrated Care Partnership (GMICP), to support people from communities of identity or experience, based in Greater Manchester (including Glossop), to improve their mental wellbeing. This programme aims to support GMICP’s 2023-2028 strategy which sets out how they will work together to improve the health of people across Greater Manchester, through the partnership.
